Certified Rolfer™, Myoskeletal Alignment Instructor, AIS, PAS
From my early childhood, I have always been involved in and passionate about movement and the body. Thanks to my family, I became an avid skier, snowboarder, tennis player, and gymnast. This fostered a later interest in traditional martial arts, and their application not only for defense, but in healing.
While pursuing a degree in Psychology at Brandeis University in the Boston area, I simultaneously immersed myself in learning Okinawan, Chinese, and Brazilian martial arts. One day some old injuries from accidents began to limit my ability to move and to study, so I sought out a solution. Allopathic medicine only offered me temporary relief, and I knew there was something that could help me further. This led me to discover a method that helped to re-educate everything about the way I was sitting, standing, and moving and helped to rid my body of tension and strain. For the first time in years, I could not only workout without pain, but I could go throughout my entire day feeling at ease. This was so fascinating to me, I decided to make this my life’s work.
I attended the Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado where I became certified in the Rolf Method of Structural Integration in 2005. With a continual thirst for knowledge, I have taken courses with some of the finest in our field, and I continue to learn and refine my knowledge and skill set. Since 2009 I have been studying with the creator of Myoskeletal Alignment Therapy, Dr. Erik Dalton, PhD. After incorporating the work into my practice, I decided to pursue a deeper education in MAT and am now an instructor for Erik’s Freedom from Pain Institute.
